Style Guide: How to coordinate your outfits for a family portrait session - Manhattan photographer
May 9, 2019
There are many factors that influence the final look of your family portraits. As I have mentioned before, an important one is your wardrobe choices. It is critical in creating beautiful, classic, timeless portraits. Another important point is to coordinate the outfits together.
Let’s be honest, whether it is for a newborn, motherhood or family photo session, choosing a wardrobe for your entire family can be seriously overwhelming! Colors, style (formal/relaxed), the details and fit can become a real challenge (not mentioning stress) even for the most stylish and motivated mom.
This is why my clients love to come to my Upper West Side studio for a pre-consultation.
This is why I hear ‘wow’ and ‘this is so helpful’ when they see my Classic Client Closet.
That is why I create monthly style guides to inspire my amazing families.
This is why I constantly update my Pinterest boards with new pieces.
This is why I love when my clients share their ideas and send me images of their favorite options.
This is why the moms feel super pampered.
This is why the kids find the sessions exciting.
This is why dad is more relaxed.
Ultimately it is also why 10 years from now, when you look at your frames or you browse your albums, your portraits will still look timeless (and you will receive constant compliments on how beautiful your family is and how grown up the kids are!).
So if you want to know how to coordinate your outfits for a family portrait session, the best is to ask your photographer to help!
Here is my selection for this month. All the links can be found under the board.
If you have any questions about my services, feel free to inquire by email or over the phone. You are also welcome to pass by the studio. I am located in the Upper West Side, close to Central Park and Riverside Park, and we can discuss portraits, motherhood and babies while having a look at the different options available in the studio. I love meeting expectant mamas, babies and families!
