When your portraits are displayed as a work of art

One of the fine-art motherhood portraits that I photographed in the studio a few weeks ago will be hung in a doula's office. Let me share the incredible feeling of having my art displayed on NYC walls.
As a portrait photographer, there is no greater joy than seeing your clients display their images on their walls and to see their family story celebrated in their home. It is a true honor and I feel so blessed to be a contributor to your family’s legacy.
Another incredible honor is when your art is considered beautiful enough to be displayed on someone else's wall. Someone that does not know the people in the portraits but that considers your art so accomplished that they want to see it every day! This is what is happening to one of my portraits. It will be hung in a doula’s therapy room in a few days and I cannot wait to see it.
Yiska and I discussed different options regarding the image size, the mat and the frame. I mocked up several options (with the exact scale for a real idea of the final product) and Yiska choose a stunning 20x30 portrait, with a 2in mat and a black wood frame. This beautiful motherhood photograph was taken in my NYC studio a few weeks ago and I am so grateful to see it loved so much.
Yiska is a doula, an educator, an acupuncturist, a (baby) massage therapist and more importantly an incredible woman and truly gifted healer. Spending an hour with her can literally repair your body (and your soul). If you want to meet Yiska or to know more about her and her work, check out her website.
