What an incredible moment I spent with this mom and her brand new baby boy over the summer! This newborn photo session was the first in our New York photography studio after the confinement, and I could not have dreamt of a sweeter baby to photograph. Mom and I have been friends for several years. It was quite emotional to be finally reunited and able to (safely) socialize and meet her brand new baby.
Amanda is a strong breastfeeding and natural birth advocate, so it came naturally to create timeless and elegant breastfeeding portraits. After some pure and natural mom and newborn photos, Amanda changed into another dress from our Classic Client Closet, and we moved to some more fine-art motherhood portraits. How incredibly stunning is she in her draped dress holding her precious little boy?
Mom was already familiar with the studio (check out our motherhood session with her daughter two years ago) and entirely at ease in front of the camera. As baby was not sleepy when we started the session, we began with some awake newborn portraits and then created some sleepy swaddle newborn photos. I also loved capturing the sweet newborn details like hands and feet with macro shots. Right after we started some mom and newborn portraits, baby needed to feed.
This newborn photoshoot will stay close to my heart, and I know that this family will treasure these beautiful newborn photos for many years to come.
